Kapil Dev in support of India Against Corruption

Extending his support to the campaign, Kapil Dev, Former Captain of the Indian Cricket team has written to the Prime Minister. He says, “I think it is time, when as a nation, we should try to find systemic solutions to tackling corruption. Whereas many steps need to be taken to do that, however creating effective deterrence against corruption is extremely critical. If anyone indulges in corruption, he must visit with exemplary punishment. Under the existing anti corruption laws, there is little possibility of anyone being penalized.”
Expressing his opinion of the recent spate of scams that have taken the country by surprise, he added, “I was extremely pained to see one scam after another come out during the Common wealth Games in India. Committees after committees were setup , yet till date no concrete action has been taken on any of the reports. Why can’t we have a strong and independent Lokpal to look into these scams?.”
